Last year, while working on my one-year journal, I made one entry with
a picture of of my old friend, Melvin Sokolsky. It was an interesting image, done by reducing the original picture from bitmapped to PostScript where it became a series of objects. I added a red outline around each shape to create an unusual effect.
Mel liked the picture and sent me a self portrait to try some effects on. Picking up the challenge, I created a series of variations,
one of which has already appeared in this blog.
Here are some of the variations. We'll start with the " Black-and-white Richard Avedon portrait" look and then see what follows.
