The museum becomes art - #1

Today we're at the metropolitan Museum in new York City. It's one of my favorite places and it's probably the most important museum in the world. Unfortunately, I don't live in new York anymore.

This is one of the huge galleries where they have contemporary art. I shot this with a Sony DSC-F707 using its Nightshot (infrared) mode. The picture is a tad overexposed, but the composition, with the museum guard at the apex of the image is promising, so let's see what we can do.

We'll start by reducing the image to black and white. Not bad. We could stop here, but let's keep going.

Here's one color variation. Note that the windows are now black.

Another color variation. Windows are still black.

Combine the two color variations with the black and white variation. Almost there.

A final touch-up brings the windows from gray to white. - by Tony Karp
A final touch-up brings the windows from gray to white.

So this is where we end up. No longer a photograph, but something closer to art. Something you might want to hang on your wall.
